i have a friend who really bothers me, mostly because she makes me think about the things in my life which are not satisfying. she is a sahm of 1 child who is in school all day. she has a housekeeper. all of this is fine, but what gets my goat is the constant chain emails trying to be funny, all about how "women rock" and "if men had to do this or that, the world would end" and all that crap about how ginger rogers did everything fred astaire did, but backward and in high heels. it just gets my goat, because, as i see it, she is sitting around all day. this is magnified by the fact that i have recently had to switch from p/t to f/t and am not at all happy about it. both my kids are older and in school all day too, but holy sh*t, i am strapped for time and these stupid multiple chain emails are just putting me over the edge. sorry for the early vitriol [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

i have a friend like that too. She has one child, a 25 hour a week babysitter and a housecleaner, and says that she works because she is working on some business ideas. meanwhile, I work 20 hrs a week but can only afford 15 hours of childcare so have to make it up when they nap, and it drives me crazy.
