at 6 months? You don't really put baby's head into the water at that age. That said, there is always the risk for an ear infection but I think it is rather unlikely. [ Reply | More ]

as early as possible to get them into the water (no swim lessons necessary - those are a rip-off). Real lessons at around 4 years of age, I would say. [ Reply | More ]

start lessons 2.5-3. we live in FLA and lots of kids can swim by 3-3.5 with lessons. [ Reply | More ]

yes, friends db's can swim by late 2-3yo. of course you would not leave them alone, but if they love it let them play [ Reply | More ]

My just turned 3yo ds can swim short distances and is "water-proofed," ie. can get himself to the side of the pool or steps if he falls in. Started lessons around 18mo. [ Reply | More ]
