it's good to get it out of your own home. we did ours (2 ds's ) at friends' homes... i hid in their bedrooms. it was tough for me... one rabbi / mohl was pissed that i wouldn't participate [ Reply | More

i didn't take a valium, but I knew ithad to be done and I just trusted that it would be ok. I did slather them in Emla cream before and then I hid. as soon as it was over they were brought to me and i nursed them... [ Reply | More

I had my mother in law do most of it. It's the father's obligation, so he had to find the mohel, plan with the rabbi, etc. I knew I would be too much of a wreck to plan for a "party" 8 days pp. [ Reply | More

op - i felt the same way. but the ceremony was actually beautiful and ds did not make a peep. we are in nyc and used bris doctor - woman ped. she was fabulous and is all about pain free. ds had sugar cube and wine. he was very happy - i had wine too. it was at our apt and very intimate - it was also my 1st bris [ Reply | More

I have a beautiful baby boy. unfortunately he doesnt sleep much so I'm up all night. He was circumcised by Dr. Diamond and I'm very happy with the results. He used the sugar water and wine and numbed the peepee with some cream. Baby didn't cry. I don't remember much more about the bris. I was in a fog at the time but I hear that's normal. The whole idea is scary. But the Bris went well and I can't complain. The mohel was a good guy. I got his name from a friend and loved him. [ Reply | More
