the good news: 7 mo db slept 10 hours straight. the bad news: he woke up at 4:30am. is this considered a night wake or a night feed? i assumed he was hungry after all that, so i nursed him (i'm trying to wean) and prayed he'd go back to sleep. any advice on how to make him sleep later? i tired keeping him awake but he crashed at 6:30 [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

this is morning. we have been dealing with this for 5 mos (DS is 1 yo), however in the last month he is now getting up at 5:30. We tried everything, and the only thing that ever worked was to let him cry and 4:30 and eventually he would go back to sleep, but sometimes he would cry for 20-30 minutes. It did not however keep him from doing it. I am told this is sometihng that some kids do and they just have to grow out of it. [ Reply | More ]

we have tried everything. feeding, not feeding, water in bottle, coming in our bed, cio, early bed time, later bed time, EVERYTHING. And even if it stopped for a while, it would come back. I have friends whose babies sleep until 7-8 am. I hate them. [ Reply | More ]

before I had kids, my biggest fear was having to get up at like 7 am every day and never getting to sleep in. Now, if I ever got to sleep until 6:30, let alone 7, I think I would fall to my knees and weep with joy. [ Reply | More ]

mine does the same thing, it is developmental, i stopped the 4:30am feed, he screamed the first morning, but after that he actually stayed asleep until 5:30. He usually wakes up now at 5:30 and coos until 6 or so when he wants to be picked up. [ Reply | More ]

yeah, i'd be a lot happier nursing at 5:30 as opposed to 4:30. it's sooooooo early [ Reply | More ]

when they finally doe 5:30 instead of 4:30 it is great, I remember literally dying from exhaustion, now 5:30 seems like i'm sleeping in. if it is ever 6am it is like a dream, it feels like I slept until noon. some kids will always get up at 5am, it is their thing, unfortunately! [ Reply | More ]
