My ped scolded me because I rock 6mo to sleep for naps and he falls asleep after bottle at night and wakes up for a feeding. Is this so awful? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

It's not that it's awful, but that you're child isn't learning something very crucial--to fall asleep without external help. For starters, stop the nap rocking. It's important that your child learn to soother herself to sleep. As for the bottle, make sure it's water only. [ Reply | More ]

And I promise, the older your child gets the harder it'll be. Just TRY to take a bedtime bottle away from a 14month old. Ugh. [ Reply | More ]

Can you rock until drowsy and then put in crib? [ Reply | More ]

My ped was the same way and it pissed me off. 6 mo is still pretty young -- I rocked until 13 mo! I'm not saying you should wait that long, but 6 mo is still fine. [ Reply | More ]
