Slightly fictionalized, but our situation is basically this: b/g twins, and we are legacies at both Cathedral and Collegiate. Assuming we can get in both places WWYD? Split the kids so that db at least can go to Collegiate which has a high school? Send both to Cathedral even though it's only k-8? Or try to get both into a coed K-12, possibly having to turn down early admission? I know we could have worse problems, but I'm tortured about this! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Depending on my children of course, I would send ds to Collegiate and DD to another ss or Cathedral. [ Reply | More ]

Thanks - you don't think kindergarden is too early to split twins up though? [ Reply | More ]

many families "have" to do this who don't have your choices. Apply to both schools as legacies and see where you get in. In this day and age, many other school will not even open your file until early admit dates have passed or you blatantly tell tehm you are *not* doing early admit. And even then..... [ Reply | More ]

i consulted with my twin's preschool teacher about spitting them. i think they have a better window into that aspect of our children's lives than we are privvy to. gl. [ Reply | More ]

If one could go to Collegiate that has HS, I would send ds there. Don't you think it'll be just as hard to get b/g twins into HS? Far easier if you only have to deal with dd alone. [ Reply | More ]

NP - I assume the situation is really that she has B/G twins and the legacy schools are, say, Spence and Town. Something analogous but not the precise schools mentioned in the post. Interesting (and pretty enviable) situation, OP; I would try to send your son to Collegiate and apply broadly for your daughter. [ Reply | More ]

I would try to send both to Cathedral and use boy's legacy status at Collegiate for high school if it seems like the right school for him. Legacy counts for high school also. [ Reply | More ]
