On April 7, Jerry Brown lost narrowly to Bill Clinton in Wisconsin (37-34), and dramatically in New York (41-26).Although Brown continued to campaign in a number of states, he won no further primaries. Despite this, he still had a sizable number of delegates, and a big win in his home state of California would deprive Clinton of sufficient support to win the nomination, which Brown apparently thought would revert to him by default. After nearly a month of intense campaigning and multiple debates between the two candidates, Clinton managed to defeat Brown in this final primary by a margin of 48% to 41%. [ Reply | More ]

"In 1980, Kennedy came into the Democratic convention at Madison Square Garden in New York City with 1,225 delegates to President Carter's 1,981, with 122 delegates uncommitted. Kennedy stood on principle and people admired him for fighting the good fight. If Kennedy could take it to the convention when he trailed by 756 delegates, why can't Hillary go to the convention trailing by far less?" [ Reply | More ]

she can go, but it is a divisive move. her poor strategizing and poor planning have led her to this point. she helped make the rules and is now contesting them. she thought she'd have it sewn up by super tuesday, lost that gamble, and is now unable to accept what in any book is a defeat. she is not bad or wrong but she is not the winner in this contest... i certainly don't hate her, but i think she's a great woman who would look more "presidential" for lack of a better term if she would congratulate BO and rally the party [ Reply | More ]

so, you are willing to say that she is "presidential" if she gives up? I don't like the way you people think, I don't like the way you act, I think it is wrong. [ Reply | More ]

she is presidential when she sees that the good of electing a dem president is good for the future of the country. she is presidential when she sees the rules and honors them. she is presidential when she lives to fight another day... [ Reply | More ]

Because america is virtually split 50/50 Rep/Dem so its a battle for anyone. Because he is young, unproven and yes, black. America is racist. Half of my relatives believe O is a "muslim". Never underestimate the racism and stupidity of the American public. If there were wiggle room - maybe, but elections are too close of late. A small percentage of the population can swing an election and O doesn't have that edge. And I'm a Dem. [ Reply | More ]
