In my experience, with no connections, no celeb, no diversity, no $$$$, 99 if asking for FA and 95+ if not asking for FA. [ Reply | More ]

I tend to agree with this assesment - although I think most non-sibs/non-legacies at TTs are coming in with 99s and 98s these days and even that's not a guarantee. [ Reply | More ]

Certainly wasn't a guarantee for us last year...we're going tier 2/3 [ Reply | More ]

Our dc got into one with a 96 ERB with FA, but we do offer "some" diversity. Needing FA does make it a lot harder and I am totally aware that if my dc offered none we may have been SO. [ Reply | More ]

Well, Penn and Cornell are like the red-headed stepsons of the ivies, so top tier-lite on a good day. [ Reply | More ]

Well, you forgot Brown. And Barnard. Cornell's private colleges are very good, though state funded ones are not the same. [ Reply | More ]

np: Barnard is not part of the Ivy League. It is a Seven Sister school. Barnard is part of Columbia University, but the Ivy League is an athletic league that Barnard does not play in. Now whether or not you consider Columbia a red-headed stepson is a different question. I won't take offense if you do, and I went to Columbia! [ Reply | More ]

OK, I would add Columbia and Dartmouth while we're at it. All Ivies except for HYP, I guess. [ Reply | More ]

i went to Barnard and I don't like Columbia being thought of as a red-headed step child ! [ Reply | More ]

can I ask a ? Did your ds have any developmental delays as a kid? My ds is now in spec. ed inclusion and he has a big storehouse of knowledge, but he has some delays and his SB scores were dismal. Holding out hope for his future.. [ Reply | More ]
