if she's new, then you might as well break her in and get her used to doing some extra things while DS is in school [ Reply | More ]

especially since she's new -- just get started that way. My nanny runs errands every day, and now that ds is in school part of the time, what else should she be doing? Good to have a relationship with flex [ Reply | More ]

depends. I think it's rude. Tell her to stay with the baby while you go [ Reply | More ]

ITA -- Depends on your relationship. When we hired our nanny, we included folding clean laundry, unloading dishwasher, running errands (picking up dry clng, returning library books) as part of the job. She was absolutely fine with it then and still is. [ Reply | More ]

op - when we hired her we said your primary responsibility is db but do a few things for us once in a while, on the flip side she gets ALOT of days off. My mom and MIL both like to take db for a day or half days and so far it has happened at least once a week.... [ Reply | More ]

that sounds fine, then. if she's fine with it, get her to do as much as she's comfortable with. [ Reply | More ]

not at all - assuming it's not pouring rain or something and she's got db with her anyway. I wouldn't do it constantly howeer [ Reply | More ]

No.. Although with a 5 month old, I wouldn't ask her to run an errand that would involve taking the subway clear across manhattan to wait in line somewhere for 45 minutes. But anything local like shoe repair, cleaners, store, etc. absolutely fine IMO. [ Reply | More ]
