Wait so Brigitte Bardot was fined for being a racist in France? I don't think what she said was very cool, but you get fined for being a racist? That sort of seems wrong to me. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

the dutch may have, but denmark is pretty committed. germany has pretty strong laws against nazi speech (you can see why) and possibly all hate speech. Britan is more like the US. its a patchwork. [ Reply | More

or - ok but that is a public outcry and a private company's decision - not a gov't crackdown on anything. Sounds similar to the whole Dixie Chicks thing a few years ago. They suffered no reprisals or fines etc from the gov't. That is what our freedom of speech protects. You can say whatever you want (or wear it) but people might get upset. Thanks for the info BTW.
