I have a very short trigger these days with preschooler and find myself really yelling when he whines. Any tips/coping skills? I don't want to be yeller mom. Many tia!! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Its your job to keep your cool- otherwise you are passing along the anger. Maybe that is the dynamic you created- he whines to get attention in the form of anger? [ Reply | More ]

Try being proactive and planning easy, fun activities. Nothing too elaborate, or else if it doesn't work out you'll blow a gasket. Playgrounds, puzzles, coloring, make playdoh on the kitchen floor, chalk outside, play in a sprinkler. [ Reply | More ]
