I didn't see that post, but anyone who posts that is short-sighted. Obviously, the Democratic party is nearly split (at least with respect to the controversial popular vote), so I think if Obama 'put Hillary in her place' he would be offending almost half the party. Also, it would read as petty and foolish, which wouldn't gain him any votes anyway. She is quite clearly ready to bow out. [ Reply | More

well, because he's been behind most of the smears against her, through surrogates. Or his campaign accuses her of something nasty, like wishing for his assassination, then he pretends to be reasonable and denies that he caused the whole fake controversy in the first place. [ Reply | More

Did you actually listen to her whole comments, in context? It was not a reference to him being assassinated. RFK meant a lot to her. She is in as much danger as he is. It really sucks the way he has twisted everything into being about him. [ Reply | More

np: I'm with you on the context really changing the tone. But it is not true that she has the same risks and danger as he does. Apparently there have been many threats regarding assassinating a black candidate or president, well before Obama. I think this is a major reason Powell never ran. [ Reply | More

I wish I could agree with all the people who hate her and think she is evil, because it would make things simpler. But I just don't. I think people want to doubt her motives and twist things she has said, so they can have a good guy and a bad guy (woman), so that the choice will be simpler. But it's not that way, in my opinion. I don't think she is just hoping for him to be killed, not at all. I don't think she meant it that way, and I think it's purely a political ploy for his campaign to say that she did. [ Reply | More

Whoa. That is not what I said at all. I don't hate her, in fact, I voted for her. But that doesn't mean I condone everything she does, and that everything he does is awful and political. In fact, I think it was unwise and insensitive to make the comment, but not the world's biggest deal. I was also offended by her proudly claiming white voters. It's not just against him. I remember when people were calling for Powell to run, it came out that the secret service had received many threats, simply because he was black. I don't think she's evil. I support many of her plans and policies. But all of this "shame on you Barack Obama" stuff got really over the top as did the pandering. She mostly seemed desparate as she tried to change the primary rules because she and her staff so catastrophically managed her campaign. Not everyone who criticizes her thinks that she's a demon. Right now I'm just tired of the whole primary season and want to get on with the general. I would have happily voted for her for president b/c a McCain presidency is too awful to fathom.
