the other night around 11 we heard a kid screaming..we live near a large park and were worried some teenaged girl was in some sort of trouble. we called 911 and it turns out it was our neighbor's child having a VERY rough time getting to sleep. the cops who investigated know mutual friends of ours and long story short, there is a good chance this couple knows who called the police? should we apologize? I have met them once or twice, am so embarassed. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

don't be embarrassed, could have been exactly what you first thought. [ Reply | More ]

np: no, that would mortify them further. I'm sure they're very embarassed themselves. [ Reply | More ]

I wouldn't apologize...you didn't call the cops on them. But to make interactions less awkward, let them know your thinking if you run into them and it comes up. [ Reply | More ]
