My dh is suffering from some kind of depression/anxiety, paranoia. I am so frustrated and I dont' know what to do. He saw a psychiatrist but he doesn't think he needs one. He is experiencing all kinds of physical ailments and we're not sure what this is. He is a great athlete but now for some reason he can't seem to run as he used to. His depression started with from this. He is in the process of taking all kinds of blood tests, etc and the psychiatrist didn't want the anti-depressant to interfere with the test results. It's a very very trying time.!!! I need help or i'm going to collapse myself. Any psychiatrist recommendation? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

just as a precaution, i'd have him checked for lyme disease. if gone unchecked, could be responsible for multiple symptoms mentioned, and if he ever runs in the woods (or has in the last year), it could be an absolute possibility. [ Reply | More ]

no recs but hang in there. living with some one who has psychological problems is so so hard. (can be even worse than physical illness in some respects.) try to get some help from family or friends if you can and maybe even see a therapist yourself for support. gl. [ Reply | More ]

I don't know if this helps, but my cousin's son had similar symptoms. He was an athlete and didn't want to play and lost interest in sports. It came to a head at school one day when he collapsed and they found that a muscle was growing around his heart and cutting off blood. They did surgery to cut the muscle and improve the blood flow. I'm sorry there is a name for this but I can't remember what it is. I don't think it's common so the dr.s might not automatically check for it. GL! [ Reply | More ]
