My husband has been working on a journal for the past 7 years about our DD. Its over 50 pages typed and covers events from school, holidays, birthdays, vacations, trips and several pages covering the day she was born. He wants to give it to her when she gets older after he has added a few more years to it. Wondering if she will really enjoy it and recognize the effort that went into it. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I think she'll fully appreciate if/when she's a parent herself or maybe when she gets married. I wouldn't give it to her as a teenager. [ Reply | More

I am sure she will -- esp if he saves it for something like highschool or college graduation or something. if he gives it to her when she is 13 she may disappoint him in her response. but it is a wonderful loving thing to do and she will definitely be touched by it. [ Reply | More

interesting. I've been keeping a hand-written journal for our dd (who's 5), but haven't formalized it quite that much. she knows I'm doing it, and she's asked me to read parts of it already. I don't think about formally "giving" the books to her (there's two), they're just there for her to read through whenever she wants. [ Reply | More
