ok, so I tried to wean the night feed for 6.5 mo ds last night and he howled like a bobcat being electricuted. i finally gave in and gave him the boob. this is madness. how do i do this? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

either CIO for that feeding, else let him give it up on his own (the former may take a few nights/week, the latter could take a while...) [ Reply | More ]

I had my dh go to baby and hold and pat her, and then put her down without feeding her. She cried (no more than 5-10 mins before he went back in and did the same until she settled) the first couple of nights, but then slept through. Good luck! [ Reply | More ]

You have to let DH go and comfort him. Otherwise, you'll be night nursing him for well over a year. I did it for a year before realizing it was ridiculous - and only took about a night or two of DC crying to get the hint. Should have done it 6 months earlier [ Reply | More ]
