I was laid off and have been feeling very weepy and tired since, last day was Friday. I've done laundry and heading for the gym. Are there any other coping techniques others have used? FWIW - I still have team members contacting me from work to discuss things, was in somewhat of a management role. TIA [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I was also really upset for about a week. Then i realize that being home and getting severance, is way better than going to work (assuming you are getting severance) [ Reply | More ]

What area are you in? I have been laid off 3 times (all due to mergers) and each time I get a better job...enjoy you time off. One piece of advise: if your office is calling tell them politely that you want a consulting agreement so you can bill them for your time. [ Reply | More ]

I assume you had no notice, my dh was laid off there a couple of years back and being laid off wasn't nearly as bad as the way they did it. BTW--he started his own Company and 2 year later Goldman tryed to buy him out. You have to be pretty good to work there but you will be even better w/o them. [ Reply | More ]

well, considering the amount you sacked in while at Goldman I assume you won't have much problems financially. [ Reply | More ]
