friend of a relative is letting us stay for free in her paris apartment for 2 weeks. we don't really know her, she is about 70 yrs old. what is a nice gift to bring from the US? TIA. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

wooooooooooooooow you sound like a barrel of laughs! look, the french already have everything they want, and it's better than what we have in the US anyway. Well, I'm from Milwaukee so I'd probably bring a kringle (a special kind of danish made here -- very yummy). Roommate in college spent a semester in Paris and had huge peanut-product cravings that she couldn't satisfy -- Skippy, Reeses, etc. [ Reply | More ]

If she were young, I would have a million suggestions (my dh is from there and his cousins love tons of US items like levi's, & ralph lauren etc.) But for that age I would say a nice entertaining piece. I have brought my grandmother some "Arthurs court" (http://www.arthurcourt.com) pieces and she just Loves them!! [ Reply | More ]
