At what age do dc start getting orthodontia these days? I know it's earlier now than when we were dc, but how much earlier? DC just turned 7 and the dentist is saying next year we'll need to see someone about starting work on dc's mouth. At 8 yo? Is that normal? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

My DD started at 6. She's way ahead in tooth development and it's obvious she will need braces. The ortho just wanted to evaluate her mouth (he suggested having two baby teeth removed that were impeding her adult teeth) and we go back next month to see if there's anything else to do [ Reply | More ]

DC is still 6 (closer to 7) and we are going for ortho consultation already. DC has jaw issues which DH also had and we need to figure out a plan to deal with it. The dentist recommended we see someone before the summer. [ Reply | More ]
