Any idea what it means to refer to your child as a "rainbow child?" This child has not been born yet so it has nothing to do with any specific behaviors. I do know this family lost an infant about a year ago. Is this related? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

She refers to the child in her womb as her "rainbow baby." As in "We found out that our rainbow baby is a girl!" "I don't know what we will name our rainbow baby." [ Reply | More ]

sounds like the parents are projecting on their db in utero. probably a way of helping them cope with the past loss. [ Reply | More ]
