gas prices are the least of our worries right now, but of course the nightly news needs something to talk about [ Reply | More ]

some people can't even afford to get to work due to the high gas prices that will keep on climbing up [ Reply | More ]

I'm not minimizing what certain people are going through, but those have to be the outliers [ Reply | More ]

Why, because you don't like to hear the truth? People who can afford the gas to drive to work are the "outliers," not people who can't. [ Reply | More ]

np: actually fuel (oil) prices should worry you. This is increasing everything (food, electricity)..things that ppl (esp the poor) need to survive [ Reply | More ]

I didn't say it's not worrisome, but there are more worrisome problems - i.e. lack of savings, for one [ Reply | More ]

I do think that it's very worrisome (the increase of food and electricity). The food banks are even finding it hard to keep up with the demand when their supply is dwindling (sp?) [ Reply | More ]

not frightened. dh has a relatively secure job. i have mixed feelings aobut the economy. on the one hand, we are being squeezed by higher prices. (especially gas. i commute in a minivan. you can't imagine how i dread filling up!). otoh, it looks like buying a house might be within our reach now that prices are droppoing b/c of the poor economy. yes, a little, because dh is looking for a job. He's getting good interviews though, so I guess the bad economy is not in his field yet. We drive very little at the moment, so gas prices haven't affected us as much. [ Reply | More ]

Slightly nervous btu not overly so. DH works for a hedge fund that's not doing too well this year. Bonus will definitely be down, but it all evens out in the end. Gas prices don't really affect us, as we only drive on the weekends. [ Reply | More ]
