My 3yo just had tonsils and adenoids out. Other BDTD moms -- did your child suffer 5-7 days later when the scabs came off? Or did they have a steady recovery. When did it seem like dc was all better? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

No - my child had a great recovery. I would say it was really only a few days until they were 100%. Spent one day on the couch out of it, and we were up and about the next time. Really a great recovery. [ Reply | More ]

my nephew (3yr) will have this done next week. The Dr told my sis to prepare herself for a week from hell. He said the recovery is painful to many kids. How is your dc doing? [ Reply | More ]

OP: 5 days out. It's hard to tell what's physical and what's psychological. She is still waking a lot at night crying (before the surgery, I thought this was due to sleep apnea) and she cries out seemingly in pain when she eats certain things (blueberries, food too hot). But her level of activity is normal and most of the day she seems OK. [ Reply | More ]

OP: Scariest part is when you see your child go under. Tell her to bring tissues. [ Reply | More ]
