6 months pregnant. Has 2 1/2 glasses of wine last night and definitely felt it. Woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and had the worst guilt pangs I could not go back to sleep. Did i hurt the baby? tell me this has happened to you before... [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

why did you drink that much? just curious. have you done this before? i didn't drink while I was PG because I usually like to have more than one drink, so it wasn't worth the unknown risks for me. [ Reply | More

probably everything is fine, but that is excessive for being pg. (And I'm not sancti about it). My OB said as long as you don't feel it, it's fine. If you can't drink just a little, you are better off nto drinking at all [ Reply | More

If this isn't a pattern, don't stress about it. Maybe look at why you drank more than you might have meant to. Did you want to participate w/others who were drinking? Did the 1st glass loosen you up so you lost willpower? [ Reply | More

I would've felt guilty, too--but baby is probably just fine. If only for your own peace of mind, perhaps figure out a way to drink less when you're in such a situation. . . I had wine at dinner in a fancy oversized shot glass, and only had 1 glass for a whole meal (had wine about 3-4 nights/week in last tri). So I got the taste and the ritual I liked, but relatively little alcohol. [ Reply | More

You are fine - it is past the first trimester & a one time occasion of 2.5 glasses of wine will not do anything to your baby. My Ob-gyno recommends one glass of wine per night while pg so just skip tomorrow's glass [ Reply | More

I am not anti-drinking during pregnancy, as long as it is responsible drinking. You got a buzz. That is irresponsible. That being said, it is likely that everything is fine (esp if this is your first baby). But don't do it again. [ Reply | More

no, look it up. heroin is LESS DAMAGING than heavy drinking. of course, NEITHER IS A GOOD IDEA. but, for example, they prescribe narcotics during pregnancy if you need it. same thing. opiates. addiction is a problem, but narcotics themselves have no syndrome like alcohol does. [ Reply | More
