She's 36, if she got pregnant today she would most likely be 37 when she gives birth, if she wants another that puts her at 38/39. She doesn't have the gift of time. It takes months to get appt, get bloodwork. She needs to take the bull by the horns now. And it may not cost any more than a copay to go to an in network RE. [ Reply | More ]

You make an appointment with an RE now. Hopefully, you get pregnant before the appt. In the meantime, read Taking Charge of your Fertility and How To Choose The Sex of Your Baby. Both are terrific in teaching about your fertility, cervical mucous, timing of intercourse, what dh should and shouldn't do. Good luck [ Reply | More ]

thanks for the responses! i am using a fertility monitor, ovulated this month normally, but last 2 months I didn't ovulate according to the monitor. I was having some severe back pain and the dr. thought it was my body's way of responding to stress. she wasn't concerned, told me to wait a couple more months, but I just wanted some other opinions. I would like to have a couple of children, to answer one of the responders... [ Reply | More ]

Go see an RE if you can afford it. That is a reproductive endochrinologist (sp?) not an ob/gyn. Can't hurt. Could help. Its too important not to do this. AND get dh to go get his sperm checked first. Easy as pie and info you need. He goes to a urologist to do this. [ Reply | More ]

You might want to temperature chart in tandem with the monitor (that way you can confirm/compare them to each other). If it will make you relax make a DR (RE) appointment now, otherwise the rule of thumb is over 35 and one year of TTC (as to when you go for med intervention). GL [ Reply | More ]

I would go see an RE. If you decide to go IVF route and all goes well, you will have 36-yo frozen fertilized eggs to rely on for future pregnancies. [ Reply | More ]
