i am, but i have to admit, i hate pretend play, i really hate playing princess or baby or the ilk. I do it, but i hate it. I do love coloring, games, drawing, puzzles, play doh, etc - so i try to steer her towards that. [ Reply | More

there's a whole school of thought which advocates this and it's simply called "Floortime"... It basically says that when you get down on the floor and let the child create the game and how it is to be played, they "show" you all that's going on in their heads... Yes, but not out of any kind of philosophy. More that I'm kind of a dork that way. Before I had kids, we would go to my sil's sister's house, and I'd end up playing Cinderella with her daughter. I remember very vividly being a kid, and I know how they think and love playing with them! But, I also WOH and have a nanny. I'm no sancti-anything! [ Reply | More
