Live in a NYC coop on the 12th floor. The super lives right near us they are so freakin loud. He has 12 family members living with him. Aren't supers supposed to have crappy apts? Why does this one have a 3 bedroom? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I agree that the noise is bad, and that, since he's the super it's probably not a good idea to ask him to keep it down. On the other hand, he doesn't live there for free, since it's in part payment for taking care of the building. [ Reply | More

its just so disrespectful. I knocked on his door the other night around 8 bc db was asleep and I kept on hearing a loud banging noise. His wife tells me that her mother is making chicken. I told her that its just too loud. wtf? [ Reply | More

np; he does NOT live there for free. It's a part of compensation for the convenience of the shareholders who might have emergencies in the middle of the night. Havign said that, he needs to be just as respectful to his neighbors. [ Reply | More

i doubt the coop board would be pleased if they found out a huge extended family was living in the apt. i would inform them first. [ Reply | More

Even if the coop board does not take action, isn't it still a violation of occupancy limits? If so, you have a ground to report that to somethere. Call 311 and find out where to report. [ Reply | More
