I could KILL dh. I've been having what I think is early labor all day - painful contractions 10 minutes apart, etc. The phone rings and he wakes me up and gives it to me and now our neighbor is dropping by this evening - the took me by such surprise. we aren't that close - she's good friends with my mom and i am not ready to tell anyone in my family that i might be in labor or they'll all descend AND I'm not even positive this is it (this is my first baby). [ Reply | More

Just call back and cancel. Absolutely do it. Have DH call and say you had a few contractions and want to relax and play it safe. Stress will make contractions worse. Signed, mom of two preemie babies. [ Reply | More

Oh ok. Sorry. I thought from "early labor" you meant preterm labor. Maybe just tell her you are getting a migraine or bad backache or something. You really don't have to have a guest. She will totally understand, especially if you do have the baby soon. Good luck! [ Reply | More
