I think they can be cute with the right "other" stuff... it's just that generally 35+ year old thighs have seen their better days. [ Reply | More ]

yes, after 35 you and your thighs should just disappear. Cease to exist. [ Reply | More ]

clever post... admit to yourself - if you will - that you're no longer the cheerleader in the little skirt. You're just not.... nothing wrong with it, it's just so... [ Reply | More ]

there are some casual skirts that would probably be great. get a good length and something with an a-line and pair it with a cute t-shirt. [ Reply | More ]

You are crazy! What is wrong with shorts for running around in the summer? Where do you live that it is out of dress code? [ Reply | More ]

I live in the South and it's not out of the dress code, just that I think they're never flattering. Listen, I mean no disrespect, I just think it's not the best choice usually. i have freinds with great gams and when I had this discussion with them and they looked at it "critically" they have been converted to non-shot wearers... Obviously there are many more critical issues, but for some reason I hate shorts on adult women... usually... [ Reply | More ]

I somewhat agree with you - on a lot of people they are NOT flattering. But neither are low rise, boot cut jeans on most women...and yet we all continue to wear those. [ Reply | More ]

correct. but I fear that sometimes we want to look younger and make the wrong choice to do that. low slung jeans don't look good on most of us, neither do things without bras, neither do shorts... [ Reply | More ]

I think they look fine if your legs aren't too stocky and if you wear nice sandles with a bit of a chunky wedge (like cork stacked) and of course the right top. [ Reply | More ]

Ask lastylistmom.com. She has a bunch of links to shorts that are cute. [ Reply | More ]

honestly if you are chunky nothing is going to look that great. try to stay covered, but some concessions have to be made for practicality. a long pair of shorts sometimes makes sense. I've seen them cut right below the knee too and that might be better. you won't look great but you'll be cooler and still covered. [ Reply | More ]

i had bermuda shorts last year and i don't think they did that much for my figure. that said, j crew has some cute thin chino shorts that are a little shorter than bermudas -- flat fronts and very flattering -- $49.50 but got them on sale for $39.50 last wk. [ Reply | More ]
