Finally got my daughter into a wonderful daycare. I only need her there 2 full days a week, but part time there is considered 3 days. So essentially we'll be paying for 3 days. I could use that day to get things done around the house, run errands etc., but I feel kind of guilty for doing this. Should I? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

why would you feel guilty about this? What is wrong with gettiing help so that you can take care of things you need to do? Would you rather leave dc is a corner at home not gettiing any attention? [ Reply | More

why are you jumping down my throat? OP said she felt guilty and I said I would feel guilty too. I didn't say she shouldn't do it. Personally, I just wouldn't drop my kid off at daycare just because I can. Plus, I SAH, so why would I do that? AND, there's nothing wrong with doing chores around the house and teach DC to learn to play by herself so mommy can get things done around the house. Jesus Christ. [ Reply | More

defensive much? Besides, if you SAH, why would you answer a post that is obviously seeking the perspective of someone who is working? WOH and WAH moms have entirely different time/scheduling constraints than SAH (trust me, I've done both). [ Reply | More

I'm in the same situation, and do not feel guilty at all. The extra time db is in daycare lets me do all my tasks when she is there, so when we're both home, I can really focus on her, take her to playdates, classes, etc. [ Reply | More
