almost 6mo is a good sleeper in terms of going down for the night/naps, but lately has been waking at 4 am and won't go back down no matter what - I've tried bottles, rocking, leaving her be, etc. What to do? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

sorry, if you're sure she doesn't need to eat (hunger), than CIO may be your only option. It sounds that way. You can do the Ferber checks or just let her cry herself back to sleep. It might take a few nights, but will probably work. [ Reply | More ]

I may get flamed for suggesting this, but you might keep db up later. Also, 6 months is prime time for CIO. Think about it: If the baby wakes at 4 am for no other reason, she may not be tired anymore, or she may simply know that you'll get up and come in. [ Reply | More ]

she goes to bed at 7:30 and it's a struggle to keep her up that long. If we go anywhere in the car after 6:30, she's out cold in the carseat. I guess I have to cio - but she's so good at going down at night, do I have to cio for the whole thing, or can I keep rocking her down at night and cio the night wakings? [ Reply | More ]

How often does she nap? She may not be getting enough sleep during the day. [ Reply | More ]

3 naps - two shorter ones (45 mins or so) and one long (1.5-2 hours) usually the long one is at 9am and two shorter ones throughout the day. Bedtime 7:30. Awake from 4-5 am (or longer) then down until about 6 or 7. [ Reply | More ]

hmm, I would try putting down a bit earlier - maybe try 7 pm, and cio for the one waking. My 8 mo dd still goes down at 6:30 pm. [ Reply | More ]

you can pick and choose what wakings you want to do cio for; you can skip it for bedtime and only do the nighttime - your choice - it will still work [ Reply | More ]
