No, that line is about a scholarship program for some children. Most pay full price and are not from low income families. It it less expensive than a lot of other camps though. [ Reply | More

They are technically a non-profit, and they do have school groups in during the year, but they really shouldn't be getting non-profit tax breaks because they don't really serve many low income kids. [ Reply | More

Try church camps. Middle Collegiate Church in the East Village has a program that is $185/weekly: http://www.middlechurch.org/middle-church_youthfamilies_aftschartsprog.htm (scroll down) Also, many camps give financial aid for lower income families, but it may be too late to apply for this summer.
