My 3 yo dd is sort of enamored with another 3 yo girl in her preschool class, but from my recent observations, this other girl is a bit nasty and non-responsive to my dd. No big deal, she's not a bad kid or anything, just not loving my dd like my dd loves her, but watching the rejection makes me feel so sad. It only get worse, right? Anyone btdt? My dd is 4.5, and I see the same thing at her preschool. The kids spend a lot of time figuring out who is friends with whom, who they don't/can't play with, etc. It's heartbreaking when she tells me that someone she was friends with yesterday wouldn't play with her today. I try to tell her that EVERYONE can be friends with EVERYONE, but apparently that's not how it's done in preschool. I worry about when she's a pre-teen/teen and she has a spat with a friend. It's hard to see her sad. . . [ Reply | More ]
