I just got laid off from a consulting position with a large IB, technical support role and trade management work. Everyone was shocked that I as an individual was selected for the layoffs including external people and many offered to help pass my resume along to others in their firms. How are others handling the networking situations like this? I'm having a dinner meeting and other meetings next week. ITA [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

ITA. I think you'll have to be aggressive in this market so leave no stone unturned. Have meetings and ask if you can follow-up with the folks to whom they send your resume. Good luck. Sorry. [ Reply | More ]

work that Linked in! Don't be too proud to send a message to all your first degree contacts in your network on LInked in. I even did it for a friend and got a couple of leads for her through my network. [ Reply | More ]
