If you had a genetic predisposition to a certain type of cancer - and the cancer could be avoided by having a major surgery in early adulthood - would you and DH conceive a child knowing that your kid would have a 1 in 4 chance of having this gene, and therefore having to deal with the risk/surgery? np, lol invitro fertilization (test tube baby) and they do a genetic screening on the embryos and don't implant the ones that have what you fear (if there is a test for the gene) [ Reply | More
