What would you do? I have a friend whom I have know for years. We both had DCs at about the same time. When they were lumps things were fine but now that they are both almost two she has become very competitive and negative about my DC. She will make indirect and not so indirect comments that her DC is better behaved than mine, her DC is smarter, etc. I get the vibe that she just plain does not like my DC. I don't think it's me, because I don't have this issue with anyone else. I am not good at confrontation, I think I might just stop returning calls. This makes me sad because before we had kids we were such good friends. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I'm not sure what I would do in that situation. But i have a kid almost 2 and I can't imagine comparing her to anyone else yet. They just run and play and make a mess. [ Reply | More

I don't think I know anyone like this...all the parents I know are much more self-depricating about their kids and parenting skills (at least at this stage). Your friend is on her way to a very lonely existence because no one is going to want to hang with a person who has that bad attitude. [ Reply | More
