Any reason I shouldn't buy a solid wood table from Room and Board? Got a better idea for something nice and affordable? Also, any reason I shouldn't get benches instead of typical chairs for table? TIA. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

benches are a pain in the ass. everyone has to be the same distance from the table, hard to get up from the middle, everyone has to coordinate to move the bench towards or away from the table. [ Reply | More ]

I built an L-shaped wooden booth. Tons of storage and easy to clean. It seats two on short end (in a pinch) and four on long side. Then the head and outside get chairs for those who don't like the booth idea. It is great for kids. (Oh and for the ney sayers on benches... my brother was shorter/smaller than I the bench was just at an angle when we were kids.) [ Reply | More ]
