Those of you who got dc accepted into public pre-k in NYC: what are you going to do with the $ you would have had to spend on private? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Not everyone is lucky enough to get a spot in public preK and would have to then pay for private preschool or keep dc at home. [ Reply | More

exactly. That is what I meant. Not everyone who applies to public prek even considers sending a child to private preschool so the assumption that there is money left on the table is a faulty one. [ Reply | More

It's based on general life experience though. Many women work and cannot stay at home with dc until K. And in our society now it's common to send dc to preschool. [ Reply | More
