Need to lose 56 lbs. in a healthy way. Is there a way I can lose 2 lbs. per week or so, so that I can hit my target weight near Jan 2009? Anyone have a recommendation? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Join a gym/ class/ program/ studio that will keep you on task w/ exercise and give you a sense of community and help you meet other active people. If you have a standing "date" with a class or group you are less likely to let it slide, and more likely to maintain the loss post 1/09, and its more fun too! [ Reply | More ]

It is a choice. Choose to make that "date" your priority. It could be something you SHARE with dc! Even if it is a M, W, F walk for 1 hr with dc in a stroller. Or "grass time" at the park, dc can play on the grass while you strength train. Or it could be your time alone, just for you, no dc (everyone needs that!) Either way, it needs to be on top of your list for the day, like your family and work. You can do it. [ Reply | More ]

my mom took all of us on her jogs when we were little (stroller), and when we were old enough we'd get on our bikes and trail her, and eventually run together and talk and it was great. really established that health and exercise was a priority for me and my siblings as we grew up, plus it was family time. i cannot stress how thankful i am for that now. Weight Watchers is the healthiest safest way to do it and with everything else you are doing you are setting your self up for incredible success. You can do it - the goals are very reasonable. Don't scrimp on the cardio - it's so important. Remember willpower and committment are like a muscle that has to be worked out every day and it has to be your personal priority = you'll pass your drive and determination and healthy habits on to your kids [ Reply | More ]
