OK, my 14mo is transitioning from 2 naps to 1, the problem is she likes to nap in the morning and she takes and 1 - 1.5 nap and then is up until bedtime. She gets cranky around 3, but that's to late to take another nap imo...I'm trying to push the morning nap later but having a hard time...what to do? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

this was my dd exactly. She gave up her 2nd nap at 12mo and would nap at 10am for about 1.5hrs. She would stay up all afternoon and did get a bit tired around 3pm but great thing was that she went to sleep at 6pm without a problem [ Reply | More ]

I would stick with 2 naps for a few more months. The average age to go from on to two according to Weissbluth is 16 months. [ Reply | More ]

np: I have 2 kids (one on the way) you cannot force a dc to take 2 naps. If they are giving it up they give it up [ Reply | More ]

True however you can spend more time soothing. I can still get my 4 year old to nap by laying with him. [ Reply | More ]
