Make sure they give you Gas-X starting as soon as you wake up. Bring lip balm, for some reason my lips were so dry. [ Reply | More ]

ask them to not put the catheter in until they take you into the actual operation room. That was a lifesaver for me with #3; signed mom who had 3 c-sections. [ Reply | More ]

np: YES!! They don't need to put it in until after you get the spinal. Can't imagine why some hospitals don't wait. [ Reply | More ]

do you hair now because you will not be able to stand straight up for a few days. NOt like an up do but wash and curlers or something. My hair was ragged for about 3-4 days after baby. If you bed is high off the groung put a foot stool next to it before you leave for the hospital. bring yoga pants or sweats to go home in jeans are not a good option they push on the scar. Hope that helps. [ Reply | More ]

take the meds, even if you dont feel like you need them. the point is not to be in pain. walk as soon as they let you. shower as soon as they let you. let them bring the baby to the nursery and then back to you for feedings - you need to rest to heal. get the catheter after the spinal. once they take the catheter out, pee often. b/c the muscles have been cut, you don't feel the need to pee soon. however, when your bladder gets too full it's SUPER painful, and you dont realize what its from. drink drink drink. You will swell after, so make sure to drink lots of water to flush your system. [ Reply | More ]
