DH went to cash our $11k tax refund check in Bank of America, but something about being in my name he couldn't deposit the check. The bank is one mile from us. They send the check back in the mail over a week ago! What do we do? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

btw - I deposit checks that are in my husband's name all of the time. He endorses them (or I fake his signature before I get to the bank). [ Reply | More

Federal tax refunds are covered by a different law - they can only be deposited into accounts held by the people named on the check (no signing the check over to someone else) and must be endorsed by both people named (if there are two payees) [ Reply | More
