DH is from abroad, so probably abroad. Otherwise, East Hampton or Spring Lake, NJ. DH way prefers Spring Lake - you really use the beach, plus my family is in NJ and we always have family stuff but we could still use our house. If my price point was lower maybe Ocean Grove, NJ (it's a little weird). Otherwise maybe Katonah (I know it's a suburb!), Rhinebeck or Cold Spring since they aren't that isolated. [ Reply | More

Depends on if you just want a beach home or year-around second home. If you want winter sports head north to Dutchess, Columbia counties or NW Connecticut and find a home with lake access and near sking. [ Reply | More

Breezey Point or one of those other beachfront communities. 'cause that way dw and the kids could spend the summer there and I could join whenever I wanted without disrupting job too much. Plus it is close enough to ride bike so I could commute really easily. [ Reply | More
