Would your dh be able to manage your dc's if you had to go away for about 2 weeks or more? I may have to do that this summer and leave my 8 yo with dh (taking my 2 yo with me)...and though he says they'll be fine....I worry. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

LOL. I went away for 5 days and DH moved back in with his parents while I was gone. To be fair, I SAH and DD is only in school half-days. DH couldn't take off the entire time I was gone, so he needed child-care help. It also meant that DD actually had real meals instead of Rice Krispies for dinner every night. [ Reply | More

At that age I would not worry at all. DD is 6.5 and I know she and DH would be fine together. Leaving him with the two of them for that long would be tougher, but then again that applies the other way around too. [ Reply | More
