my ds read at a higher grade level too in kindergarten and we had a great time basking in the glow but once he got to 2nd grade, he hated to read and we had to make him read his books that the teacher said he needed to read. He got all these bottons in kindergarten-2nd grade for higher reading and then he just stopped reading. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I am a teacher. Usually this happens when reading becomes a "chore" for the child. The pleasure has been taken out of it for him/her. [ Reply | More ]
