How involved is your dh with dc's preschool? I'm secretly envious of the moms whose dh's do occassional drop off/pick up and attend school related functions. Seems their kids are the most confident ones at school too. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

At our school, I think there's a pretty clear pattern: DHs of WOHMs are much more in the picture. No surprise, obviously. [ Reply | More ]

At ours it's either the DHs of WOHMs, the DHs who run the hedge funds and can show up to work when they want, or the SAHDs. [ Reply | More ]

My DH is in IT and has the same flexibility when it comes to showing up to work whenever he wants. You don't have to run a hedge fund to be able to do that. [ Reply | More ]

We both woh f/t so we pretty much split drop-off. (He travels more than I do, so I do a bit more.) The babysitter generally does pick-up. [ Reply | More ]

dh drops kids at the school bus every day and hangs with the other parents. He's on the Dad's committee. Attends just about every play, meeting, etc. He hs done pick up as well and did it more when he was between jobs last year. Before we had the bus, he did drop-off twice per week (but not for pre-school as it started too late) [ Reply | More ]

DH does drop-off, I do pick-up. Since we have two toddlers at home he usually takes the time off from work and gets involved in school activities (field trips, etc.). When I was WOHM (I am SAHM now) the roles were reversed (he did pick-up, I dropped-off) but his work is so much more flexible that he did most of the field trips. [ Reply | More ]

He does dropoff every day and we both go to all functions where parents are invited. And DC is very confident; I never thought about that being related to DH's involvement, but perhaps it is. I am a FT WOHM, btw (DH works FT as well). [ Reply | More ]
