we need to let nanny go. I like her but DH doesn't. anyway, DH doesn;t want to give her notice and then let her watch DS, knowing that we fired her. He wants to call her on a day that she isn't working (she is PT) and tell her than we won't be needing her anymore and that we will send her a check for 2-3 weeks severance. Is this awful to do? Decent people don't do this over the phone. They do it on nanny's last day and don't let her work for you once they tell you, but they will tell in person and give severance in person. OP sounds she'd prefer just to leave a message on the answering machine. Come on. [ Reply | More
