Childhood best friend needs advice. She moved to a new town when her dd was born, made a bunch of friends and sounded very happy. Always busy at one bday party or bbq or playdate or another. But she keeps hearing about this one going to lunch with that one or a few couples going out, and unless she initiates, she feels like she often doesn't get included. I WOH, so not used to this. Don't know what to tell her. Make new friends? Initiate more plans? Any thoughts? She's a great girl, sux that its so annoying. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Same thing happening to me. I have decided to stop worrying about what everyone else is doing (not to say it isn't hard and I don't have my feel sorry for myself moments). I can't stand how insecure it makes me feel, I realize that clearly these friends are not as close friends as I had once thought and try to accept the relationship for what they are. I have started to reach out and meet new people as much as possible and still continue to be friends with the other but with less expectations. [ Reply | More

its like dating friends. tell her to initiate. she wont make great bonds with everyone, but may find a few really close friends. its takes work to keep any relationship going, even with friends [ Reply | More
