someone diagnose me - have had a cough for 3 weeks now, no fever and no other symptoms, can go hours without coughing now, but it sounds really bad when it starts and sometimes i gag and almost throw up. i can feel mucus in my throat, but have never had allergies before - what could be the cause and do i need to go to the doctor? probably allergies but definitely go to a doctor. it could be lung cancer, though that's highly unlikely of course, i think a persistent cough is a symptom. [ Reply | More ]

thanks for scaring me - i had breast cancer so that was in the back of my mind. i looked up the other symptoms of lung cancer and don't have any of them. my cough is definitely better than it was, and i'm not waking up in the middle of the night anymore, so i don't know if i should keep my drs appt for tomorrow. I would only worry if you are getting night sweats or your skin itches .. my brother had lymphoma in his lungs and the doctor said those were the symptoms that identified it for him after checking him out for a cough he had for 2 months ... he was on chemo for about 6 months and has been in remission for 18 months [ Reply | More ]

you do not have lung cancer from a cough. though if you post your symptoms and ask for medical advice from an anon chat room, you deserve a bit of a scare. just go to your dr. [ Reply | More ]
