why do most women instinctively want to have a girl? I also wanted a girl and ended up having a boy --now I can't imagine having a girl and think boiys are the most delicious lovey things. Is it the clothes? Becasue I will admit girl's clothes is way cuter. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I have 2 girls and am pg with a boy. I was honestly a little bummed and freaked out at first. I only know how to deal with girls and this will be very diff. for me. BUT he is healthy (knock on wood) and that's all that matters [ Reply | More ]

you will love having a boy. they are so much fun and so lovey. I do think it is nice to have daughter when your children are grown (most women are much closer with their adult daughters than sons) but a little boy is just heaven. You will love it. [ Reply | More ]

For me I wanted a boy because I am not a girly girl (don't wear make up, have little fashion sense etc) so I just felt more comfortable about having a boy. [ Reply | More ]

I am not sure your assertion is right. I know for me, I really wanted a boy, and dh really wanted a girl. We ended up with a boy, and we're both super happy now (of course). Now pg with #2 -- we both wanted a girl but it's a boy. But I always wanted some of each, and more boys than girls [ Reply | More ]

^^^ reading the response above me, I am also not a girly girl, but my boy likes some girl things (eg nail polish, which I never wear, wants long hair, etc). He is so perfect and cute and easy and smart :) [ Reply | More ]

NP: My boy used love to play with my make-up, brushes etc. Now that he's 5 that is all done with! He's all "boy" now. [ Reply | More ]

I think maybe it's because it's what we know, maybe a change to relive our own girlhood? That said, I never wanted a girl. Had a boy first and wanted another, but now that I have my girl I am delighted with her too. [ Reply | More ]

I always wanted boys b/c I adored the little boys I used to babysit for in college. I think they are "delicious lovey things" as well. I have two dds and they are so wonderful. I realized after first db that gender is only a part of who this individual is. If you want a dd b/c you love the clothes or a ds b/c you want to do little league you may find that you have a dc with no interest in those things. My youngest dd loves trains, cars, playing baseball while my older dd dresses like a fairy . Who knows what their interests (and wardrobe) will be as they get older? [ Reply | More ]

I just felt like I could relate better to a girl. I come from a family with 3 girls, so the idea of having a boy just seemed foreign to me. I thought we would do the types of things I liked to do as a girl. It's not about the clothes for me, and I'm not really that girly. But I liked doing crafts with my mom and imagined doing that kind of thing with my dd. I did end up having 2 girls, so I'll never know what it would have been like to have a boy. [ Reply | More ]

Well, I'm 40 and dh and I are very careful. It's highly doubtful but you're right, it's not impossible. [ Reply | More ]

I'm 40 too and dh are always careful. Both of our pg were planned. Now I'm pg with #3 and he was a big SURPRISE. We couldn't figure out how the hell that happened when we are so careful. [ Reply | More ]

That would actually be a big problem for us, so I really hope it doesn't happen. We can't afford for me to stay home much longer (#2 is 3yo). Our sex life is really bad right now, though, so it's highly unlikely. [ Reply | More ]
