you are right. you don't really want to run around with a bouquet of balloons on the day of the party when so many other things need to be done. Get the helium tank and let your kids help you inflate them. It is so much more fun. [ Reply | More

better way to really save is to just rent a helium tank, not a kit, and buy the balloons separately...you'll get more ballons. and buy ribbon in bulk [ Reply | More

you really need to call around....and it depnds on how many baloons you wan to inflate. And if you need 4 dozen balloons, you may find it cheaper to have them dleivered by a non-retail place like BTG ot BB nyc....I think those balloons are less than a buck a piece. Worth the phone call...I did it several years ago and found it much cheaper and less tiem consuming. I save the $40 by making my own cakes [ Reply | More

fyi....100 baloons filled and delivered from BBNYC: $150, helium tank rental (for 300 large or 500 smaller latex balloon) is $150 plus you need to buy balloons. I should have said if you a larger amount (not 4 dozen) it may be worth renting. You can check the wbesites. I just knwo these two. BTG may be cheaper. [ Reply | More

Also, latex balloons only last about 12 hours once they are inflated. Doing it yourself eliminates the last minute pick up of inflated ones. Mylar ones last longer inflated [ Reply | More
